DESCRIPTION: After presenting our delivery of iron ore to receiving dignitaries at the Detroit Belle Isle Beach, all swimmers who participated in the Edmund Fitzgerald Memorial Swim and their guests will be invited to lead a 4.7-mile march from the swim's finish line to the Mariners' Church of Detroit. Participants will follow the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Trail from the beach to the MacArthur Bridge, cross the Detroit River, follow the Detroit Riverwalk west to Bates Street (located just past the Renaissance Center), and follow Bates one block to the church. In a memorial service, the church bell will be rung 29 times for each crew member of the Edmund Fitzgerald.
